How to care for your cutting board or serving tray

Care Instructions: FAQ

• Do not leave the item with standing water on it.
• Do not submerge in water.
• Never wash your item in the dishwasher
• Never use your item in the microwave oven or broiler
• Once a month, or when the item seems dry, treat the board with mineral oil to fill the wood pores and prevent drying of the board.
• Use a mixture of mineral oil and beeswax for a more stable and reliable coating.
• Do not use edible oils for board treatment, such as sunflower, olive, coconut, etc., because over time they will become rancid and bitter giving that taste to the food.
• Remember to treat all sided with the oil because partial treating may lead to bending of the board
• To wash cutting board, use a damp cloth and, if needed, a mild soap.
• Dry item immediately after washing, making sure air can get to both the top and bottom of the board.
